Fakry started offering small chain and independent UK Pharmacies a personalised label service for food supplement products, which proved very popular.
By 1995, he had expanded his manufacturing operation and decided to launch Basic Nutrition®, our own high-quality yet affordable brand of Nutraceuticals, which achieved national coverage within just a few years.
In 1998, Fakry purchased a small piece of land in Coventry and built the company’s first dedicated manufacturing facility himself, with his own hands.
2007 saw Fakry pass the directorship to his sons, Simon and Adam Petros, who recognized the global demand for British-made Nutraceutical products and embarked upon an ambitious export focus.
We won our first Queen's Award for Enterprise, International Trade in 2017 – the UK’s most prestigious business award.
In 2019, we invested £3 million into acquiring a new, state-of-the-art facility, custom fitted to GMP standards. By 2021 our facility was certified to GMP standards by the UK Medicine and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), exemplifying our commitment to quality.
In 2022, we proudly received our second consecutive Queen's Award for Enterprise, International Trade award.
